The Body Remembers: A Somatic Yin Journey

Submitted by Cheryl Minkoff on October 22, 2025@9:34:AM

Join Cheryl and Katie for a soothing and awakening 3-hour journey into Somatic Yin Yoga—a practice that harmonizes the stillness of Yin with the subtle, re-educational movements of somatics to awaken your body’s innate intelligence.

This workshop draws on Thomas Hanna’s Theory of Sensory Motor Amnesia, which explains how habitual muscular tension can lead to a loss of voluntary control and chronic discomfort. Through a blend of long-held Yin postures and gentle somatic movement, you’ll learn to release deeply held patterns, improve mobility, and reconnect with your felt sense of embodiment.

What You’ll Experience:

Somatic Movement Exploration: Repattern your nervous system through conscious movement and awareness.

Yin Yoga Integration: Experience deep fascial release and meditative stillness in supported postures.

Neurophysiological Insights: Learn how the brain-body connection influences posture, pain, and movement.

Breath & Awareness Practices: Cultivate interoception and proprioception to enhance your inner listening.

Self-Inquiry & Journaling: Reflect on your somatic patterns and emotional landscape for lasting transformation.

Who Is This For?

Perfect for yoga practitioners, movement educators, bodyworkers, and anyone curious about healing through embodied awareness. No prior experience with somatics or Yin Yoga is necessary—just a willingness to slow down and tune in.
