About Me
I was born in 1964 and although I dabbled in the 'postures' occasionally for 'exercise' as a young adult to complement the work-out program that I taught (Aerobics Instructor for years with the YWCA), it wasn't until 1993 when struggling with post-partum depression that I began to take Yoga seriously. It changed my life. In 2008 the stars lined up for me to register with Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training, and I have been a student/teacher of the practice ever since. All books that I read: yoga-related. Most documentaries that I watch: yoga-related. Practicing myself and opening the yoga doors for others, has become my life's passion. I consider myself a life-long student of the science and am ever-grateful for the discovery. Over the years, I have also been self-educating in the teachings of Ayurveda having the utmost respect for the lessons of Dr. Vasant Lad. My husband and I (musicians) also have led many Kirtans locally, with the strongest inspiration being Deva Premal and Krishna Das. My sincere intention is to build a local Ashram someday when the funds 'fall from the sky' ... and continue along this life-changing path so that many, many others can experience its joy. I feel that Yoga is an ideal tool for all human beings to have in their 'pocket', thus creating more seva ... more acceptance ... more peace. Namaste.
About My Service
'An Inspired Path' began in 2008 in Eastern Passage as an ocean-front studio (in my home) where I began teaching to the local community as part of my 'training hours' while in the 200HR certification program at AYTT. After certification, a larger studio was added on to our house to accommodate the growing number of students which by then numbered up to 10 classes/week. In 2022 we relocated to another community and 'clientele' had to be initiated once again, building a new kula in a new county from scratch. I currently instruct 2 classes/week (one chair; one floor) in the Kripalu/Amrit tradition. Gail is fully insured with Lloyds Underwriters through the Yoga Alliance Membership.
