About Me

I am a native of India, and come from a mixed background with an American mother and Indian father. My mother is one of the first expats of New Delhi, therefore I have always had a keen pulse on both the Indian and expat community. I started practicing yoga when I was 17. I graduated from one of the top International schools in New Delhi, known as the American Embassy School in 1995, and went on to do a bachelors degree in English Literature (B.A English Hons). I gave up a promising career in the corporate world with a fortune 500 company, Wipro, as a communications trainer, and embarked on a journey of Vipassana meditation, while I backpacked around South India. Finally I started to teach yoga privately since non the of the studios would hire me without experience - and it actually was a blessing in disguise as i had freedom and flexibility which allowed me to explore yoga festivals in Goa and learn other forms of yoga such as Jivamukti, Anusara, Ashtanga and yin yoga,

About My Service

I teach a blend of Ashtanga (8 limbs) and Hatha Yoga. My surya namaskars (sun salutations) are a spontaneous blend of traditional poses with variations, in such a way that require the practitioner to remain in the present and avoid getting caught in an ego trap or getting bored of their yoga. I enrich the practice by bringing focus & awareness to ones' body, breath, thoughts and energy centres (chakras).
i include the practice of Pratyahara, pranayam and yoga nidra to add value to the class.

I tend to weave in mythological stories related to the poses which allows one to take yoga off the mat (her latest mantra) and into daily life.
