About Me
I am a dedicated yoga practitioner and I aim to live a lifestyle that aligns with the values and principles of yoga. As a yoga teacher and a clinical psychologist, I am dedicated to bringing these two worlds together as I have personally seen the benefit of the synergies between western psychology and the embodied practices of yoga. I see the benefits of this work for my students and my clients as well. I started practicing yoga at the age of 3 years old with my mother, and have continued to study and grow in my knowledge and practice of yoga over the course of my life (I am now 48). I am always pursuing additional education and training in yoga. As a current example, I am currently completing Dr. Lauren Tober's Mental Health Aware training, and I am considering registering for the YogaX training out of Stanford University as my next training program. I am requesting the CYA-E-RYT 500 designation because I have a lifetime of practice, well over 1000 hours of teaching, and a 500 hr certification. Given that a lot of my teaching happens within my clinical practice, where I am self employed and I am the Clinic Director, I would not be able to provide letters of reference for this work, so if you do not feel that I am eligible for the "E" designation, I will understand. I have previously been registered with CYA, and at one point I was grandfathered in with the "E" designation, so I am also hoping you will consider reinstating it, given that it was approved in the past. Thank you for your consideration.
About My Service
I teach mental health informed, and trauma sensitive yoga classes. I also teach yoga, breathework, and meditation practices within my psychology practice (I am a registered clinical psychologist and have been doing this work for 20 years).
