About Me
I have worked with incarcerated individuals for over 14 years. I am fortunate in that I truly enjoy my work, and that I am now able to offer trauma-informed yoga to my clients, at no additional cost to them. I do not intend to work as a yoga instructor in a standalone practice; however, it is important to me that I follow the practice guidelines and standards of continuing education that apply to all yoga alliance teachers.
About My Service
I am currently employed as a Family Counselor at the Alberta Children's Hospital and as a Social Worker the Calgary Young Offender Centre. I am very fortunate that I have clinical training in child and adolescent mental health, as well as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (a trauma therapy modality). I see the value of practicing trauma-informed yoga in both contexts, as auxiliary to trauma therapy. I offer trauma-informed yoga groups to my clients in both my practice contexts, to support the growth and development of embodied safety.
