About Me
I completed my first yoga training in 1984 and soon after began teaching yoga at the University of British Columbia while pursuing my degree in Therapeutic Recreation. I have always been passionate about offering yoga to people of all abilities. At UBC, my classes included both athletes and individuals facing various challenges. It has always been a blessing to share this practice.
In 2008, I decided to refresh and deepen my training by completing a 200-hour certification with Karen Claffey. Since then, I’ve been actively teaching and continuously expanding my knowledge. I have completed a 300-hour training with Naada Yoga, a 135-hour training with Hervé Blondon, and a 144-hour Somayog training with Deep Priya. I also hold a certificate in Somatic Embodiment with Linda Thai.
In addition to my Yoga teaching, I contribute to a Faculty Interest Group at Concordia University within the Department of Applied Human Sciences, where we explore the impact of mindfulness practice on student learning. I’m delighted that the university will be launching its first Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program this fall, and I’m honoured to be assisting Barrie Risman in bringing this new initiative to life.
About My Service
I offer Hatha yoga classes to the general public, including regular classes, gentle practices for older adults and adapted sessions for people with disabilities. My offerings also include meditation, Yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, and somatic-based practices.
I have recently begun offering adapted chair yoga teacher training and will be supporting a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT 200) as an assistant teacher this fall.
