About Me

I love yoga in all its forms and although I started taking yoga classes about 40 years ago during my university years in order to stay fit, I continued later because I found it to be beneficial to me in many more ways: connecting back to my body, finding calm, presence, and peace of mind. In 2014, after taking classes in yoga studios on a regular basis for a couple of years, I decided to pursue a 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) with Caroline Elson and Donna Davis at Elation Center in Ottawa (this studio later closed). Since then, I have continued with my personal practice, started teaching to family and friends and occasionally at a community college where I worked. I also started reading many books on the topic while pursuing a variety of other trainings on topics such as chakras, pranayama, meditation, Yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, Ayurveda, trauma, the subtle body, chair yoga.
In 2018, I started a new job as a labour relations specialist, and I also started offering a regular weekly Hatha Yoga class at my new workplace in 2019. Following the pandemic in 2020, I moved this class online and have continued to teach it online every week ever since.
In early 2020, I wanted to pursue my learning as a yoga teacher and registered to a 300-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training at Pranashanti Yoga Center in Ottawa. I completed it in March 2023.
Having worked as a post-secondary counsellor and registered psychologist for 25 years, helping students with various personal, career and academic struggles, teaching yoga has been part of my commitment to helping people find comfort and ease within themselves.
I believe that the yoga mat offers an opportunity to find a state of well-being by cultivating presence and connection to our mind, body, breath, and spiritual self and by moving the body into various postures while accepting and respecting our boundaries and needs. It is with that goal in mind that I guide students in my classes hoping to shine the light into the treasure of all that they already are.
