About Me

~Cultivating the Art of Awareness~

Developing discipline and maintaining a daily personal practice has at times been a challenge but I try - and have seen the benefits. Effort enhances self-esteem and offers a sense of reward and balance.



A regular yoga practice makes the body and mind strong and flexible. It improves posture, strengthens and stretches the muscles and connective tissues, and is a tonic for the nervous system. Through my practice I have learned to calm my mind by connecting with the breath, and to feel free in my body. Yoga has taught me the art of awareness, humility, tranquility, gratitude, and peace.

With the practice of yoga, I began to know myself better and to trust my intuition. Yoga has helped me to become more accepting of myself and others. Overtime I have come to understand that everything that happens, truly happens for the best and as a result I am a happier person. One of my favourite quotes from Swami Sivananda says: “There is something good in all seeming failures. You are not to see that now. Time will reveal it. Be patient.”

I am greatly inspired by the teachings of Swami Vishnu Devananda. The Sivananda system is a complete system of yoga that emphasizes a balanced approach to wellness which includes: exercise in the form of yoga asana, breathing practice also known as pranayama, healthy nutrition, meditation, and positive thinking. This approach is reflected in all my classes.



I am deeply grateful to my teachers, who have shared with me their love of this transformative practice. It is with that same love I offer the same to you.
