n the past decade Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre (RYS 200 & YA Canada, YA US & YAP UK) has graduated over 2,000 successful yoga teacher trainees from all corners of the globe at our training in India, Spain, Ireland and Thailand.

Our world renowned 200 Hour, one month intensive Teacher Training Course (TTC) is internationally accredited with Yoga Alliance Canada, Yoga Alliance U.S, Yoga Alliance Professionals , Yoga Alliance International, The World Yoga Council and the International Yoga Federation. Graduates who successfully complete the program are eligible to become RYT’s ® (Registered Yoga Teachers) at a 200 hour level and qualify to teach internationally.
Our training school has met the stringent requirements set by Yoga Alliance Professionals, demonstrating that our courses are of the highest standard and that our graduates may register with Yoga Alliance Professionals to use their relevant membership level designation, as a sign of quality training.

Our 200 Hour Teacher Training Course delivers a comprehensive, theoretical and practical hands-on training program. Trainees emerge from our TTC as confident teachers with a strong and solid teaching skill set ready to begin their career. Alongside developing the art of teaching, trainees also gain a comprehensive understanding of the practice of yoga asanas, philosophy, physiology, adjusting, mantra chanting, chakras, anatomy, ayurveda, mudras, pranayama and meditation and other traditional and contemporary Yoga techniques.

Our curriculum takes you through the essential elements required to deepen and enrich your own yoga practice and to teach students with confidence. Our expert team of teachers will guide you from the fundamental stages to teaching with ease.

At Himalaya Yoga Valley we believe that the priority outcome of a Teacher Training Course should be the ability to teach a professional class with excellent skills when you complete your training. Our training courses are intensive because the curriculum is outcomes focused and we encourage only those with the specific goal of becoming teachers and deepening their practice to attend our training.

We greatly value the emotional, spiritual and physical investment students make to attend a Teacher Training course and this is why we place such a strong emphasis on substantial teaching time during our training courses.

Our training blends traditional Eastern teachings by Indian Masters of Yoga, Philosophy and Ayurveda combined with teachings from highly experienced and dynamic Western teachers. This marriage of backgrounds gives our students the opportunity to learn in an authentic Yoga setting whilst gaining the skills required to impart these teachings practically and relevantly in a global yoga environment. Please enjoy this video which gives insight into our Teacher Training Course from a students perspective.

The main aim of our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is to provide trainees with the foundational building blocks to teach with confidence and ease as soon as they graduate. In the past ten years of program delivery, we have developed a tried and tested method of progressive learning practicums.

Our training stands alone by providing students with expert lecturers and teachers assigned to each subject who are experts in their fields. Our school recognizes the value of having multiple teachers specific to each subject rather than one or two teachers covering the entire syllabus.

Style of yoga
During the Yoga Teacher Training programme you will learn a unique blend of traditional yoga styles:
Ashtanga Vinyasa
Our Level I Yoga Teacher Training Practice Sequence is founded in the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series, a dynamic and flowing style of yoga that builds strength, flexibility and focus.
Iyengar Yoga
To compliment the Ashtanga style we also teach the fundamentals of Iyengar yoga, particularly focusing on precise alignment in poses, and the use of props and modifications to make the practice safe and accessible for all levels.
Himalayan Tradition of Yoga Meditation
Our school director Yogacharya Lalit is a student of a long tradition of yoga from a direct line of Himlayan Masters. Lalit studied under his master Swami Veda Bhati and Grandmaster Swami Rama, who founded the famous Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy, and on our Yoga Teacher Training you will learn meditation and philosophy in alignment with this ancient lineage.
