About Me

I have practiced yoga for many years (20 years). For the past 6 years, I have been practicing with Oxygen Yoga, the far infrared studio. In January 2017, I had a ski accident, leaving me with an extensive left elbow injury with 8 broken bones and eventually radial nerve palsy and ulna nerve impingement following 8 hours of surgery the next day of my accident. I lost movement in my left lower arm and hand. hand. I was off on disability for 3 years trying all different recovery treatment. 15 days post surgery, I was seen by my surgeon. He asked me what I liked to do. I said to him swimming and hot yoga but i can’t practice none of them. He said to me if you can’t swim because you don’t have your left arm as you did before, you can still walk in the Shallow pool. He encouraged me to go back to the pool and go back and sit and stand in my yoga classes. I listened to him. Sitting in the yoga class with tears running down my cheeks, I listened to the cues, watch others moving the bones, stabilizing the muscles and come in the right alignment. Planting both hands on the mat, was not something my limbs would allow me to do. Slowly, I compare one arm to the other, one hand to the other, I played around with my left upper limb, and check why i couldn’t do what i was able to do before. It was the moment, the now, the yoga, which took me back to my physiotherapist and help her providing me the exact treatment to allow my hand and arm to find progress, rebuilt nerves. I went for a second surgery so my surgeon could reopen and create space to provide me some more extension in my left elbow. I continued attending yoga classes and walked in the pool. Slowly i was able to plant my left fingers on mat. My left shoulder was lower than my right but i continued to make progress.ine day i was able to come on a full side plank on the left arm. I was amazed that my left arm could accept my weight for just a couple of seconds. I decided I am going for 200 YTT to learn more about the stacking of the bones, his the joints work and how to engage the muscles. Here I am now. I finished my course and got my diploma and I am teaching. My yoga members who attend my classes walk out each class filling wholeheartedly full and happy
