Dr. Abeni El-Amin, Ph.D. has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Abeni has certifications by Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as an Examiner, Group Fitness Instructor, Kickboxing Instructor and Practical Pilates Instructor. She is certified as a Personal Trainer through Interactive Fitness Trainers of America (IFTA). She is a Zumba, Zumba in the Circuit, Group Power, NASM (Neuromuscular Stretching), Silver Sneakers: MSROM (1) & Cardio Circuit (2), Turbokick, FitTour Master Yoga Instructor: Primary, Nutrition, Yoga, Advanced Yoga, Aqua, LA Fitness Certified: Advanced Group Instructor, Aqua, Body Works, Cardio-Kick Boxing, Club Boxing, Step Tech 1, Keiser Indoor Cycling, and is an IDEA Instructor.
She also volunteers at the American Red Cross as a Preparedness, Health and Safety Services (PHSS) Instructor and recently as a Community Services Specialist in Disaster Services and as a Preparedness, Health and Safety Services (PHSS) Instructor. The American Red Cross Response and Preparedness (RAP) corps provide disaster services and capacity building services to improve disaster cycle services-disaster preparedness, response and recovery.
As a health and safety instructor, she is responsible for instructing American Red Cross CPR/AED/FIRST AID Lay Responder, Healthcare Professional Rescuers, Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers, Baby Sitters, Blood-Borne Pathogens, and Wilderness Training courses.
She also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Business Administration at Ivy Tech Community College and Associate Professor of Business Administration at Indiana University of South Bend.
Favorite fitness modalities to instruct are Abs and More, Aqua Aerobics, Belly Dancing, Body Sculpting, Boot Camp, Cardio-Kickboxing, Cycling, HITT, Pilates, Senior Fitness, Yoga, Zumba, or any combination thereof.
About My Service
I specialize in Hatha yoga with a focus and overview of the fundamentals of the yoga method, (breathing & abdominal techniques) are emphasized. Additionally, yoga philosophy, anatomy and physiology, yoga asanas, pranayama, mudra & bandha, concentration through meditation, and relaxation are services offered.
