I was born and raised in Wallaceburg, Ontario and have always been involved in athletics and health & fitness. I decided to pursue my education out West at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus in Kelowna where I studied Kinesiology for my undergraduate degree, which is the science of human movement & applying it to improve function, health and wellness in all people. I majored in Exercise Physiology, and then continued my studies in a Master’s program, focusing in Health Promotion & Wellness. Healthy lifestyle habits and physical activity have always been a passion for me, so working in a patient-focused, hands-on approach clinic as a Registered Kinesiologist was a natural fit. I work with people who have various injuries, chronic pain and diseases, applying an alternative holistic approach to help clients reach their optimal movement potential with minimal pain.
More recently, I took my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification with DevaTree School of Yoga, to help both myself and my clients understand & benefit from the mind-body connection, and to explore the numerous physical & mental health benefits that yoga has to offer. Yoga classes are available in group and individual sessions, based on clients’ needs/preference, abilities and health history, to help enhance their overall quality of life and movement.
About My Service
I am currently teaching classes geared towards Beginners. I recently taught an 8 week session for Yoga for Beginners, and am now starting with a Gentle Flow class as well as a Stretch and Strengthen class, with modifications for beginners. I am also beginning to teach 1-on-1 classes for individuals with chronic pain or injuries as I am also a Registered Kinesiologist working in a Physiotherapy clinic.
