The human body is designed for movement. As we age, it is especially important to consciously maintain our precious mobility, flexibility, balance and strength. A regular, gentle and safe practice of Yoga can be an effective strategy to maintain one’s quality of mobility, invigorate and balance body systems including respiration and digestion as well as calming the mind, releasing emotions and spiritually, centering oneself.
As a style of Hatha Yoga, my teaching practice starts with a strong focus on the breath, followed by a gentle progression of natural movements to warm up the body to prepare for an easy, relaxed flow of asanas (postures/poses) and concluding with a time to reconnect with the breath and release tension. Through simple and natural movements of muscles and joints, the focus of my practice is to keep the body properly aligned and balanced to invigorate and regulate body systems towards stability creating a positively pervasive sense of well being.
Yoga With Margaret places a strong emphasis on the safety and stability of each movement, transition and postural engagement; with attention given to individual needs to maintain a therapeutic and restorative tone as clients are encouraged to develop a daily practice that they can easily manage at home in between classes.
Yoga With Margaret is suitable for those who are just beginning their Yoga journey, as well those who are well on their way and wish to strengthen and to deepen their practice.
