About Me

Started teaching noon hour Yoga classes at HMCS Cataraqui, Kingston after completing Yoga Exercise Specialist training in 2009 while still working full-time for the Department of National Defence. In 2010 opened home studio on Buck Lake, 1002 Pillar Lane, ON and completed by 1st Degree Reiki. In 2011 completed First Sphere Meditation training with Bright Path and 2nd Degree Reiki. In March 2012 founded Op Yoga where I provided Yoga and Meditation classes and Reiki Healings. In the same year completed 3rd Degree Reiki and Reiki Master. After completing Mindful Yoga Therapy Trg with Veterans Yoga Project (VYP) added Trauma sensitive Yoga and Meditation to my Yoga classes. I also began volunteering with the Occupational Stress Injury Support Services at CFB Kingston.

In March 2013, completed 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Trg and retired from DND with 36 years of service. This ended my four years teaching at HMCS Cataraqui. In Apr, Op Yoga moved to 804 Sterling Ave Kingston, ON and classes and healings started in June. In Sep, I completed Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery Lvl II at Feathered Pipe Ranch, Montana providing me with more skills to work with those affected by PTSD. After completing the course I was asked to stay and participated in a VYP Healing Retreats for US Veterans.

In Nov 2013, my healing training continue and I became a Reconnective Healing Foundational Practitioner and The Reconnection Lvl III Practitioner.

In Jan 2014 began teaching Mindful Yoga in a research study for people exposed to trauma due to operational exposure with the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen’s University until Mar 2015. In Apr began teaching inmates through Freeing the Human Spirit program at Corrections Services Canada (CSC) Collins Bay Institute and Bath. In May, I completed Fundamentals of Teaching Yoga and Meditation in Military Communities and in Jun, Teaching Trauma Sensitive Meditation both with Warriors at Ease. In Jun 2014, I co-instructor with Dan Libby on VYP Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery Teacher Training at Janati's Yoga School in Kingston, which has become a annual event. In Dec, began volunteering with the Frontenac Community Mental Heath and Additions and taught Yoga and Meditation until Mar 2015.

In June 2015 organized and taught 1st Canadian VYP Healing Retreat for Canadian Veterans and 1st Responders at IAWAH Wolfe Lake, ON and then 2nd in Oct 2016 at Opinicon Resort.

In Jul 2015 completed Making Friends with Yourself, a meditation course with Pema Chodrin and in Aug, Introduction to Therapeutic Yoga with Susie Hatley Aldous and Therapeutic Yoga 5 day Intensive in Mar 2016. From Sep 2015 - Jun 2016, taught Mindful Yoga to CSC staff at Regional Correction Staff College.

In December 2016 changed name of business from Op Yoga to Spiritual Healing Artist and continues to provide Reiki training, Spiritual Healings, Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Meditation and following passion for creating work of art mainly oil paining in Portraiture and landscapes through mainly commissioned work.
